When I started my own bakery, I naively thought that I could rely on word-of-mouth advertising alone. Unfortunately, after being open for only four months, I could tell that I wouldn't be able to make it another four unless I started marketing. I started focusing on different demographics, and I even worked with a search engine optimization team to help me to get the word out there about my business. It was amazing to see how much those simple changes helped. I was able to dramatically improve the foot traffic to my business and show the public why I deserved to be there.
